Opened in February 2015, Chimelong Penguin Hotel – one of four hotels at Hengqin Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort – is a unique and entertaining penguin-themed hotel.
With a total construction area of 180,000 square meters and penguin images virtually everywhere, it features 2,000 comfortable guest rooms and suites, two exotically themed restaurants, a couple of large food courts and a lakeside shopping street.
Close to the entrance of Ocean Kingdom Theme Park, it also has a VIP channel which leads directly to the entrance square of the theme park and takes five minutes by foot.
The hotel offers five styles of residential rooms, titled Smart QQfamily Room, Polar Region, Temperate Zone, Exploration and Penguin Family, meeting the different needs of clientele.
The Smart QQfamily Rooms are the result of a co-operation between the hotel and China’s largest social media company, Tencent Holdings Ltd. Each QQfamily Room has a “Qrobot” which has been specially developed in the form of the QQ penguin to provide smart operations. The cute, talkative, voice-recognizing robot can adjust lighting, control curtains, play music, tell stories and follow other instructions given by guests.
In the center of the two themed restaurants – Emperor Penguin All Day Dining and the Food Street area – is Penguin Pavilion. The pavilion, divided into the Temperate Zone and Frigid Zone, covers an area of 500 square meters and has 90 penguins living inside.
The hotel also features “Penguins on Parade”, a musical show conceived, designed, built and installed by US company Sally Corporation.
The show is performed by 16 life-size animatronic penguins on a stage of glistening ice nestled in the corner of the Emperor Penguin restaurant.
Located on the eastern side of Hengqin Island, Chimelong Penguin Hotel is quite close to Macau, Hong Kong and Guangzhou. It is just 10 minutes by car from Hengqin Port, one hour by intercity light rail from Guangzhou, 70 minutes by ferry from Hong Kong and around 2.5 hours by car from Guangzhou and Shenzhen Airport.

Launched concurrently with Inno Valley HQ on 29 June 2015, the Peking University Entrepreneurship Training Camp Hengqin Base is a nonprofit platform supporting young entrepreneurs from the Greater Bay Area including Guangdong, Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Located at 189 Baoxing Road in Hengqin New Area and covering 1,400 square meters, Hengqin Integrated Services Center serves as a “one-stop “comprehensive service hall” for all administrative matters within Hengqin New Area.
Covering about 66 hectares, the park promotes ecological and wetland conservation and offers a wetland ecology exhibition, wetland leisure experience, seawall original ecological plant viewing and management service zones.
The Zhuhai Huafa & CPAA Grand Theater is the first multi-purpose venue for performing arts that complies with international standards in Hengqin.
