Hengqin and Macau to hold regular youth entrepreneurship training camps

The 2018 Hengqin-Macau Youth Entrepreneurship Training Camp held its opening ceremony on 26 October in Inno Valley HQ in Hengqin.

The training camp is co-organized by the Macau Affairs Bureau of the Hengqin government and Macao Economic Bureau, and co-hosted by Inno Valley HQ and Macau Young Entrepreneur Incubation Center.

The Camp aims to help Macau youth entrepreneurs understand the mainland market and mainland culture, familiarize themselves with mainland policies and enhance their entrepreneurial capabilities.

It provides cognitive entrepreneurship training, model design training, BP roadshow training, visits to enterprises in Hengqin, interpretation of Hengqin’s policies to Macau residents and an introduction of “China and Portugal youth innovation and entrepreneurship exchange opportunities”.

For start-ups, the camp provides training courses on mainland policy, exploring entrepreneurial models, building teams and more. For projects that have already landed in Hengqin and have reached a certain level of entrepreneurial achievement, the camp provides training such as product optimization, marketing and team building.

The training camp holds a “start-up camp” four times a year and recruits around 40 people in each period. The recruitment target is mainly for entrepreneurs in Macau, but each period will also recruit 10 entrepreneurs from mainland China.

A “growth camp” will be held twice a year with each period hosting around 20 people. The main target of recruitment are Macau entrepreneurs registered in Hengqin and each period will recruit five entrepreneurs from the mainland.

Lau Kit Lon from the Macau Economic Affairs Bureau noted that in the coming year, the Macau Economic Services Bureau and the Macau Affairs Bureau of Hengqin New District will work closely together to build a platform for innovation and entrepreneurship in Guangdong and Macau to support and encourage Guangdong and Macau.
