Trinity Boys Choir is one of the busiest and most successful choirs in the world, having enjoyed a global profile for almost 50 years.
On 27 July, Trinity Boys Choir will present a 110-minute mixture of genres and styles at the Zhuhai Huafa & CPAA Grand Theatre, located in Shizimen CBD.
The boys have appeared on such prestigious stages as Glyndebourne, the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, English National Opera and various opera houses abroad, including the Opera Comique, Paris, La Fenice, Venice and at the Aix-en-Provence Festival.
They are especially well known for their part in Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream in which they have appeared more than 150 times and feature in both the Warner DVD and on the Virgin Classics CD of the opera.
On the concert platform, the choir is regularly invited to perform at the BBC Proms and was honored to perform in the Queen of England’s 80th Birthday Prom Concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 2006 and at Sir Neville Marriner’s 90th Birthday Prom Concert in 2014.
The boys have performed with all the major London orchestras, with Sir John Eliot Gardiner and his Monteverdi Choir and with Paul McCreesh and his Gabrieli Consort in Spain, Germany, Italy and the UK. Trinity Boys Choir has also been invited to perform in Vienna with the Vienna Boys Choir and in Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Norway, Poland, Spain, Switzerland and the USA.
Now making its first trip to Hengqin, the choir will perform their best-known songs including Bohemian Rhapsody, Lullaby and Danny Boy among others. The choir will be in China for a 10-concert tour, starting in Guangzhou and finishing in Beijing.
Hengqin International Tennis Center will be open for use by residents of Zhuhai, Hong Kong and Macau free of charge from 11 August to 31 December, Huafa Sports has revealed.
The Zijin Hengqin Lecture Series was held on 4 August at Xiangzhou Port in Hengqin, bringing a traditional Chinese cultural feast with the characteristics of the Forbidden City to attendees from Hengqin and neighbor cities.
Hengqin International Tennis Center hosted a special ceremony on 21 July to mark the 100-day countdown to the start of the 2018 WTA Elite Trophy tournament.
The 2nd 21st Century Maritime Silk Road China (Guangdong) International Communication Forum dealt with a range of strategic issues including Guangdong Province’s brand image building and dissemination, scientific and technological innovation and construction of the Greater Bay Area.
The forum was coordinated by the GMTCM Park – the first project jointly developed in Hengqin by the governments of Macau and Zhuhai.
Zhuhai issued its first five-year mainland residence permit on 9 September 2018 to a Macau citizen living in the city. According to government information, 751 more eligible individuals from Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan have now received permits.
From 19 to 21 September, the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Forum on International Communication, China (Guangdong) will be held at Zhuhai International Convention & Exhibition Centre in Hengqin New Area. It is the second edition of the annual event.
