Opened on 2 February 2018, the Sumlodol Hengqin Camping Park is Guangdong’s first leisure camping site built to China’s national standards. It combines camping, self-driving and other entertainment activities for an all-action trip and was named a National Standard Pilot & Test Base.

The family-oriented camping park is being developed by state-owned Da Heng Qin Pan-Tourism Development Co Ltd.

Located on the northwest side of Small Hengqin Mountain, around 30 minutes drive from Gongbei Border, the first 60,000 square meter phase of the park has camping units, private courtyards with outdoor barbecues, bonfire parties and a sandpit and amusement park suitable for children of all ages.

There are 48 lots containing 18 recreational vehicles equipped with furniture, electrical appliances, simple kitchens and cribs, four two-story cabins, 12 mountain villas built from containers with cartoon and marine themes plus five tents measuring nine meters by five meters.

Catering to families, each living unit has an individual courtyard for barbeques with nearby pirate-themed rides suitable for all ages. Ten parking stalls are reserved for private motorhomes with easy access to water and electricity.

The park also boasts a multi-functional compound event venue suitable for corporate conventions and weddings.

Details of the second phase of the park are to be unveiled later this year.
