Zhuhai International Convention & Exhibition Center (CEC) has reached an agreement with Microsoft Office 365 to supply a new product that combines audio guides, introduction texts, real pictures and sharing functions.

The functions are integrated into a WeChat mini-program that runs on the WeChat mobile app and enables users to place audio notes on document files.

WeChat mini-programs are “sub-applications” within the WeChat ecosystem. They enable WeChat to provide advanced features to users such as e-commerce, task management, coupons and more.

The QR code of the mini-program will be displayed in the lobby, on service counters, front desks and 35 electronic screens at the major Zhuhai MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) facility.

Scanning the QR code leads directly to a reading interface, where viewers can give audio-visual texts “likes”, share them with other WeChat groups and download them to their phone.

Office 365 is a line of subscription services offered by Microsoft. Based on a joint cloud service, it is the same as Microsoft Office but designed for easier communication and collaboration by allowing anywhere-access to Office tools and applications.

Thanks to the rapid development of big data and cloud computing, CEC is able to bring guests convenience and interactive experiences. More technologies will be introduced to make its services even more intelligent, said a CEC spokesperson.

According to CEC officials, the CEC complex in Shizimen Central Business District of Hengqin New Area is the first offline site to use the Microsoft China product.
