From 19 to 21 September, the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Forum on International Communication, China (Guangdong) will be held at Zhuhai International Convention & Exhibition Centre in Hengqin New Area. It is the second edition of the annual event.
The forum will be hosted by the Central Radio and Television General Station and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, with the theme of “New Era, New Silk Road, New Image”. It will showcase the achievements of the province in becoming a major gateway linking China with the world. The province also provides an example of the benefits of China’s policy of reform and opening up, which marks its 40th anniversary this year.
The forum will focus on the forging and spreading of Guangdong’s brand image, scientific and technological innovation, building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and other important topics, as well as the experience and achievements of economic and trade exchanges, cultural exchanges and international cooperation between countries along the Silk Road.
There will be one main forum – the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Forum on International Communication – and three parallel sub-forums, namely Brand Communication of Guangdong, Scientific and Technological Innovation and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area. The forum will showcase will issue the 2018 One Belt and One Road Action Report for Guangdong Companies Going Global.
The forum will bring together over 1,000 delegates and be attended by former French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin, 2011 Nobel Laureate in Economics Thomas J Sargent and Zhu Yeyu, vice president of the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology.
