Hengqin Industry Lecture Hall series kicks off

The first Hengqin Industry Lecture Hall – a series designed to discuss future opportunities and share expertise with local businesses – was held at INNO Valley HQ on 20 June.

Speaking at the inaugural event was Dr Chen Zhaoling from the Institute of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Development Studies at Sun Yat-Sen University, and Wei Dongqing, a Chinese Party official and executive director of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge Authority. The pair addressed over 150 enterprise representatives from different industries in Hengqin.

Dr Chen gave a keynote speech titled “Utilizing the Advantages of Hong Kong’s Science, Technology and Creativity Industries to Promote the Innovation and Development of the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Greater Bay Area.” He elaborated on the advantages and effects of Hong Kong’s science, technology and creative industries from five perspectives including the legal system, the market, finance, education and industry, and provided suggestions on how Hengqin can learn from Hong Kong’s experience.

Wei, who has participated in the construction of the bridge from its beginning, gave a speech titled “Development of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge and the Bay Area.” In addition to sharing stories about the construction of the bridge, he also spoke on Hengqin’s advantages and historical opportunities regarding the development of the Greater Bay Area.

According to the latest official data, the number of Hengqin commercial entities has now exceeded 50,000.

Through this Lecture Hall series, the organizer plans to invite experts and business representatives to discuss opportunities and the future direction of Hengqin industries and to share expertise and market dynamics in order to attract more talent to work in Hengqin.

According to its organizer, the Hengqin Development Limited Liability Company, the Lecture Hall series will be held regularly.
