Hengqin hosts first General Assembly of the China International Property Exchange Alliance

The Hengqin International Intellectual Property Exchange (HIPEX) National Platform Agency signed strategic agreements with domestic IP industry leaders this month to create a trade environment designed to upgrade the overall IP industry.

The action was taken at the first General Assembly of the China International Property Exchange Alliance held in Hengqin.

Founded in 2014, HIPEX, also known as the Seven-Stringed Lute National Platform, establishes and manages an experimental platform with financial innovation for the country’s public IP service platform, aiming to develop an online trading system with a core business focused on financial innovation, IPR transactions and international operations.

A total of 81 renowned IP trading companies and service organizations attended the General Assembly.

Teamed up with the National Base for Copyright Trade (Yuexiu) in Guangzhou, Sinoipro IP Management & Technology Transfer Co Ltd in Shanghai, Champion Commercial Service (GZ) Ltd in Guangzhou, gaohangip.com, 86sb.com and maizhi.com, they will explore new avenues while focusing on online trading that integrates intellectual property finance and cross-border transactions pioneered by HIPEX.

In view of the fact that the enterprises entering Hengqin – especially those small and medium in size – are currently weak in innovation capacity, low in patent quality and lack awareness of intellectual property protection, the HIPEX has set up a service office to provide one-stop services regarding intellectual property including patents, trademarks and copyrights as well as related intellectual property rights assessments for start-up projects, patent navigation of entrepreneurial projects, venture capital project financing and corporate listing counseling.
