Greater Bay Area Women’s Innovation and Startup Competition begins

The 2018 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Women’s Innovation and Startup Competition launched in Hengqin on 6 September.

Jointly hosted by the Guangdong Women’s Federation, the Human Resources and Social Security Department of Guangdong and the Administrative Committee of Hengqin New Area, the competition aims to provide a platform for outstanding female talent to innovate and start businesses and to attract more female talent to invest in the Greater Bay Area.

The competition consists of an enterprise group and a team group. It is open to participants country-wide who are interested or intend to start a business in Guangdong, or entrepreneurs who have already registered in Guangdong. The only condition is that one of the project founders is female.

The prize pool totals RMB1 million, including RMB200,000 for the winner of the enterprise group and RMB90,000 for the winner of the team group. There will also be a Most Popular Award in each team, to be decided by online votes.

In addition to prizes, eligible award-winning projects and teams can also take advantage of the talent policies of Zhuhai City and Hengqin New Area, such as incubation site opportunities, a business guarantee loan, quality improvement funding, subsidies and talent recommendation.

Applicants can submit relevant documentation to http://womensinnovation.gdwomen.org.cn. Registration opened on 6 September and will remain open until 12 October 2018.
