Countries meet in Zhuhai over Silk Road

As reported previously by Hengqin Record, the Zhuhai International Convention & Exhibition Center last week hosted a three-day conference themed “New Era, New Silk Road, New Image.”

The 2nd 21st Century Maritime Silk Road China (Guangdong) International Communication Forum dealt with a range of strategic issues including Guangdong Province’s brand image building and dissemination, scientific and technological innovation and construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.

One of the biggest annual events in the city, it also featured a Master Forum, a seminar on Zhuhai investment promotion and three parallel forums themed International Communication of Guangdong Brands, Scientific and Technological Innovation Promotes High Quality Development and Shared Opportunities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong- Macau Greater Bay Area in the New Era.

An exhibition of achievements of Guangdong brands was open throughout.

According to Shen Haixiong, deputy head of the CPC Central Committee Publicity Department and director of China Media Group, the forum is of great significance for boosting construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, better building Guangdong’s new image in “Opening Up” and sharing the limelight of Zhuhai.

The 2nd 21st Century Maritime Silk Road China (Guangdong) International Communication Forum attracted 800 guests including Central and national committee officials, senior provincial and municipal senior officials, representatives of the Hong Kong and Macau SARs, foreign consuls in Guangzhou, international organization officials, world-renowned scholars and experts, business executives, media heads and guests from more than 30 countries and regions.
