Zhuhai IP Public Service Center opens in Hengqin

The Zhuhai Intellectual Property Public Service Center opened on 26 April 2018 in Hengqin. The center will be operated by the Hengqin International Intellectual Property Exchange (HIPEX) National Platform Agency, which will provide supporting resources and management expertize.

Established last June and controlled by Huafa Group, HIPEX, also known as the Seven-Stringed Lute National Platform, is a pioneer in integrating the online trading and operation of IPs.

According to HIPEX, the center will consult on the latest IP policies and provide relevant information on various businesses. It will coordinate with the Zhuhai Intellectual Property Office on IP protection, Management and Trade while supporting national standards for Enterprise Intellectual Property Management. The center will help those applying for IP rights, organize training sessions for potential talent and provide IP analysis and evaluation for major economic events.

Zhuhai’s government has long placed emphasis on IP-related industries. Subsequently, it has become both a National Pilot City of National Intellectual Property and a Pilot City for IP pledge financing as defined by the State Intellectual Property Office of the PRC (SIPO).

The Center in Hengqin will further strengthen Zhuhai’s reputation for IP protection and make it a prominent player within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, according a government official at the opening ceremony.
